2010 Used Eyeglasses Collection Campaign
EYEsee kicks off its 2010 Used Eyeglasses Campaign with a week of activities at Saint Viator High School in Arlington Heights, Illinois, during the week of January 25 to February 12, 2010. This year's campaign will run 19 weeks, through June 27, 2010. EYEsee has arranged drop-off locations in the northwest and west suburbs of Chicago. EYEsee's collection effort with area churches and senior homes will be complemented by participating elementary schools that are conducting their own collection drives on behalf of EYEsee. Several optical clinics have also offered to receive eyeglass donations at their locations.
Proceeds from this year's campaign will benefit the poor in Haiti, Honduras, Venezuela, Philippines, Marshall Islands and Micronesia. EYEsee will also support medical missions to the African countries of Uganda and Kenya this year.
EYEsee volunteers will receive donations of eyeglasses during weekend drives at area churches and senior homes on the dates listed below.
